The business started from very humble beginnings with the founder Neil Williams starting a carpentry and joinery apprenticeship in Mentone in 1979 at the age of 17 with builders TL & G Davidson of Mordialloc. During the next four years Neil worked on a number of different projects for his employer and in 1981 was promoted to foreman in the 3rd year of his carpentry apprenticeship of a commercial project. In the same year he won carpenter apprentice of the year with the institute of carpenters and joiners.

During his apprenticeship Neil developed a love for surfing and would spend most of his spare time on the east and west coasts of Victoria. On the completion of his apprenticeship Neil made a sea change to flinders at the ages of 22 and started some small jobs around the town.

After a few years the small jobs grew into smaller extensions and the odd new house, the business has now grown into multiple teams of carpenters. This brings a total to date of 130+ years of building experience on the Mornington peninsula.

The team has now grown to 9 full time employees. Six qualified carpenters, three apprentices and one plumber. All three of Neil's sons work for the Business, Luke Williams Project Managing, Tim Williams Site Foreman, and Grant Williams is undertaking his apprenticeship. Luke, Tim & Grant are the 3rd generation of builders in this family.

Over the years we have learnt to concentrate on only a few projects at a time, this way we control the quality, progress and client communication successfully. This has led to us experiencing a large number of repeat clients, some of which we have built up to 8 projects for, Ranging from piers to 100 square luxury homes. As time goes on and technology advances with equipment and materials our focus is on building quality projects locally, which will last the rugged exposure from the elements and our highly reactive soil in the area. Ranging from Small Extension Work to Large commercial projects.
